Chernobyl Diaries
Oren Pelli (“Paranormal Activity”) delivers this film about a group of friends who decide to spend their vacation touring the abandoned city of Prypiat, home of the Chernobyl disaster. Got pretty terrible reviews, even for a b-horror flick. 

2016: Obama’s America
Hardly out of the theaters and on DVD in hopes of affecting the election. From what I understand, it’s “Fahrenheit 9/11” but from the other side of the aisle. My advice: watch tonight’s debate instead.

The Forgiveness of Blood
Albanian thriller about a young man who is marked for death because his father and uncle killed another family’s son of the same age. Got pretty great reviews, but from the trailer, it looks like it might be awfully slow for a thriller.

Last Ride
Hugo Weaving tries to prove he’s not really half-elf/half-computer-virus by playing a dirty Australian criminal who kidnaps his own son in this road trip film.

Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted
Like brave Odysseus, the zoo crew continues to try to find their way home. This time, they get stuck in Europe and disguise themselves as a traveling circus. Got mediocre reviews, but is likely to keep the kids entertained while you get some work done.

Marina Abramovic – The Artist is Present
Your artist documentary of the week. Abramovic presents a show at MOMA where she sits motionless and stares at ticketholders.

That’s My Boy
Another from the Adam Sandler Factory of Mindless Comedy: Nathan Rabin at AV Club called it “a barren comic wasteland of scatology and misogyny.” But hey, if that’s your thing, go for it.

Turn Me On, Dammit
Norwegian sex comedy about a 15 year old girl’s raging hormones and sexual fantasies. Sounds like the kind of thing that might be ok in Scandinavia but frowned on in America, but it got good reviews (those naughty critics.)
